When I went to London in November I took a stroll throughout the Pop Life exhibition at the Tate Modern and was kind of amazed by the Andy Warhol portrait of Grace Jones.
I thought shit, I’d like to have that on my walls so bad.
Today I went to work and was well bored as usual, so I put on my ipod and listened to some banging tunes.
At some point this In Flagranti track came on and I was like, omg I haven’t heard this in a while, it is so so massive.
Anyway, you had a good xmas? I had some lovely presents, more on this soon.
Life’s good, winter has kind of started even though it’s not really there yet-and it’s all about long walks and coffee and controversial books and imaginary animals.
After Berlin a couple of months ago, now it’s time for me to hit London and check out my peeps out there and do some major shopping.
There are tracks that immediately take me back to a certain time, and when “Credit” by Ariel Pink comes on my stereo I can not help thinking about the summer of 2005. It reminds me of hanging out at Millers Terrace, the parties at Plastic People, smoking in Abney Park Cemetary with D and B, Stoke Newington, Dalston, the pizza at Il Bacio; I was happy and hadn’t had my heart broken too much and mostly I looked like the picture above.
After a week and a half spent frolicking with the bf (seafood, deserted beaches, long walks) in south west France I am now ready to face a new year. Yes, a long time after leaving school, everything still starts for me in September.
Someone said somewhere (I have absolutely no recollection of where I read this, forgive me) that when you start dating someone and you both take up a new interest for a tv series and watch it together on a regular basis, chances are that the relationship is bound to develop.
I am just glad we picked The Sopranos beacuse if it had been The Wire (snore, zzzzz), I’m not sure things would have turned out the same.
I never really paid any attention to The Sopranos at the time it was actually showing-I didn’t even know I could have a interest in organised crime in New Jersey, so I have a lot to catch up with. I’ve been obsessively checking my mailbox for series 4 to arrive and I’m getting impatient for our next Sopranos night.
